Old 500 year old cottage with stunning period and traditional details. Not one room with a straight wall or level surface, makes built furniture a real challenge.
Obviously nothing off the shelf fits to this interior, either by size or style. Desperately wanting storage but not a nasty clash of style of finishes.
We created this:
Upper cabinet cupboard storage with adjustable shelves. Concealed behind shaped Oak doors set within the odd shaped Oak beam recess.
Complicated scribe details to ensure the furniture blends well to the interior, but gives maximum storage and impact.
Oak doors finished in Danish Oil and Wax to connect to the texting ancient old tone of the existing Oak beams.
Understairs storage a common problem. Messy clutter, unused space and imported shelves, make the area awkward to access and use.
New Oak stair risers to lift the dark painted staircase.
Bespoke built in desk and storage to the under stairs area. Bespoke shaped desk top fitted to the staircase, Creating an excellent space for a office study office area.
Maximising storage with an Oak desk top and under shelves. Finished in Danish Oil and wax to compliment the Oak beams again.
