A recent project for a built in full height painted bookcase with Oak Library Ladder for a period home in Kenilworth, Warwickshire.
Major part of the design to fit in with the property interior and age often found in he surrounding towns of Leamington Spa and Warwick. Here we design with Traditional period details. High level cornice and fluting to the pilasters, give a elegant touch to a large piece of furniture.
High level chrome ladder rail matching in to the interior fittings. Nice touch to pick up on sash window fittings, light switches etc.
The Library Ladder is a wishbone design. Tapered Stiles give a lighter, more elegant shape to not obscure the detail to the bookcase. Although the ladder has high treads, only the first 3 will really be used as this gives plenty of scope to access the shelves. Reducing the size of the steps with the wishbone design, keeps the ladder in design and function, not a heavy set utility ladder.
The client’s excellent display dressing, matching floor tones and highlight colours to give the room a real statement piece of furniture. Being the first piece seen as you enter the property, it is vital to achieve the client’s specification for storage, interior design and statement furniture. The end result is a very, very happy client and a showpiece we are very proud of.
