This is a cherry bench seat with a live natural edge. The simple design highlights the stunning grain of the wood. American cherry often has figurative, highly decorative grain patterns that suited this piece perfectly.
The simple A frame legs are functional but aim to not detract from the showy cherry top.
This shows the natural edge of timber and the decorative figure in the wood. We are not often asked to work with cherry but it’s a beautiful timber that gives lovely results. This is also shown in another project where we made some cherry wardrobes.
